People tried to rescue man from submerged car
Guysborough RCMP are investigating a fatal collision that killed a Cooks Cove man yesterday.
On Monday at approximately 3:25 p.m., Guysborough RCMP, Guysborough Fire Department and Emergency Health Services responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Hortons Cove Road. Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a pick-up truck lost control of his vehicle and went into the water landing upside down.
Witnesses to the incident responded immediately, going into the water and pulling the lone male occupant out of the vehicle. However, attempts to revive the 73-year-old man were unsuccessful.
A collision scene analyst is assisting Guysborough Detachment and the investigation is continuing. The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.
