TRENTON - Power was restored shortly after 5 p.m. for almost 1,600 customers in Pictou County after a tree fell on a power line.
Neera Ritcey, manager of external relations with Nova Scotia Power, says they don't know the exact circumstances, but it was reported that a tree was being cut down by a third party on Logan Road in Trenton and collapsed onto power lines.
They reported 1,594 customers without power.
Affected areas included Trenton between Duke and Park Road, Little Harbour Road, Sutherland, parts of Pictou Landing Road, Quarry Island, Black Point, Melmerby Beach, Little Egypt and several others.
The outage occurred around 3:30 p.m.
