This Saturday the New Glasgow Farmer’s Market will present its annual Harvest Time event at the Riverfront Dome.
This Saturday the New Glasgow Farmer’s Market will present its annual Harvest Time event at the Riverfront Dome. This one-day event will run from 8:30 a.m. until noon and features a bountiful selection of activities, produce, beef, baked goods, eggs, honey, music and artistic creations.
"Our Harvest Celebration is a wonderful finish to an awesome season! I hope everyone comes out to enjoy all that NGFM has to offer," says Chair of the New Glasgow Farmers Market Cooperative Board Cathy Lavers.
The market's board and vendors invites everyone to attend Harvest Time and to enjoy music by Scott Hill and Rick Rankin, an apple cider demonstration and samples, children's colouring contest and face painting.
A special reading will be done by local author Monica Graham of her new book- Fire Spook: The mysterious Nova Scotia Haunting beginning at 9:30 a.m. Monica will be on hand to discuss her new creation and she will also have some copies available.
Also taking place are an apple pie contest and a pumpkin pie contest. Pies must be dropped off to the Dome before 10 a.m. with the judging happening at 10 a.m. New Glasgow Mayor Barrie MacMillan and Deputy Mayor Henderson Paris will take on the duties as judges. There will also be treats for children in Halloween costumes.

"The New Glasgow Farmers Market vendors do a great job celebrating the harvest and Halloween during a jam packed program. It is also a memorable event where visitors may experience local goods and services in such a fun and authentic setting. Here you can really get a feel for life in Nova Scotia."
