PICTOU – The skatepark committee which has been planning to build a skatepark in the town gave a report to the Pictou Council during their committee of the whole meeting Monday night.
The group made a formal request to use part of Broidy Park for the project.
David Porter, one of the leaders in the project, said the park would be located where the skateboard ramp is currently located. It will be about 4,000 square feet and will not impact any of the existing aspects of the park.
The group has already raised just under $10,000 and hopes to start construction soon.
