A Grade 6 teacher from Thorburn Consolidated School has been placed on administrative leave while the school board completes an investigation.
Debbie Buott-Matheson, spokesperson for the Chignecto Central Regional School Board, confirmed the teacher had been placed on administrative leave but because of privacy issues, said she could not disclose the reason or give any indication why the actions were taken.
“All our teacher files are confidential,” she said.
She would only say that the investigation is in relation to actions that aren’t considered OK by the school.
The Pictou County RCMP said they are not investigating the matter.
Buott-Matheson explained that the school board will have to complete its investigation and determine from there if it’s a matter that requires the attention of police.
