Pictou County’s top chef’s are banding together for a unique United Way of Pictou County fundraiser.
Local Pictou County Chefs have been invited to submit extravagant showpieces constructed of mostly gingerbread and other edible delights which will be sold at a Gingerbread Silent Auction. All gingerbread creations will be a maximum of 2.5’ wide x 3’ long.
Participating chefs include: Chef Robert Vinton, The Bistro; Chef Thomas Carey, Pictou Lodge; Chef Jeff Fletcher, Get Stuffed Healthy; Chef Gilles Godin and the NSCC Pictou Campus Cooking Class; and Chef Ryan Skelton.
Residents and local organizations are invited to view the displays and bid on their favorite creations.
“We’re hoping people will bid on the pieces so that they can use them in their homes as the ultimate centerpiece, as a holiday display at their business, or as special and unique holiday present”, says Jessica Smith, United Way’s Executive Director.
“The winners will be notified on Dec. 13 and the United Way staff will be delivering the pieces.
The extravagant pieces will be on display at the United Way office, 342 Stewart Street, New Glasgow. The auction will begin on Dec. 3 and closes on Dec. 13 at 12 p.m. Viewing days will be on Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After hour viewings can be scheduled by contacting the United Way office at 755-1754 or email@example.com.
