Pictou - A 20-year-old woman charged in connection with a robbery outside Shoppers Drug Mart is waiting to see what happens with the co-accused in the case before she enters a plea.
Rosina Virginia Ernst made a brief court appearance Thursday in Pictou Provincial Court during which time her lawyer said she would not be entering a plea or election because negotiations are ongoing with two other men charged in the case.
Thirty-year-old Justine Piercy and his brother, 25-year-old Jayden Piercy, will return to Pictou provincial court Dec. 16. Both men are charged with robbery as well as wearing a disguise during the commission of a crime. Neither men have entered a plea.
The charges stem from an alleged incident in August when a woman had her purse stolen outside Shoppers Drug Mart in New Glasgow and was sprayed with an irritant.
The defense lawyer described his clients as "not a major player in the case" and asked that Ernst's case be adjourned until Jan. 20.
The Crown didn't object to the delay and Judge Del Atwood granted the adjournment.
