NEW GLASGOW – The New Glasgow Riverfront Jubilee is promising to make your holidays down right jubilant this year with a live rock show extravaganza at the Acro Lounge and Eatery.

The Jubilee will showcase three of Nova Scotia’s best and loudest bands on stage for one night of pure, unbridled rock on Dec. 28.

The Jubilee Holiday Rock Show 2013 features Carry The Lost, Black City Avenger, and A Call for Submission.

"There are so many great, independent rock bands who submit to the Jubilee festival each year, and with only a limited number of slots, we cannot possibly present them all," says Jubilee Executive Director Carlton Munroe.

Carry The Lost, Black City Avenger, and A Call for Submission all submitted to the Jubilee through a contest that was held with Reverbnation this year, and which was won by The Town Heroes.

The music of all three bands can be characterized as hard hitting rock with edge, and catchy hooks, but each band comes with a sound all their own.

Jubilee goers may recall that Carry The Lost performed on the Jubilee Main Stage and Late Night Stage in 2012, and Black City Avenger performed in a Battle of the Bands for a Jubilee main stage spot in 2012.

The Jubilee Holiday Rock Show will also feature some giveaways, including a weekend pass to the 2014 Jubilee. Admission at the door will be $10.

The New Glasgow Riverfront Jubilee will be celebrating its 19th year Aug. 1-3, 2014.
