Rice is taking over the position which was formerly held by Scott Fraser. Fraser left for a job in Colchester County.

Rice, most recently served as Clerk for Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia – and brings to her new position a strong background in municipal governance.

“Ms. Rice's education and experience will enable us to continue to offer the high operational standards that residents have the right to expect and we look forward to working with her," Mayor Roger MacKay stated.

Another day, another municipal employee hired on. We have 6 municipal units in this county. That means 6 individuals have to be CAO, when only 1 is necessary. We have 6 councils, when only 1 is necessary (with 10 councilors). We have 6 mayors/wardens, when only 1 is necessary. We have too MUCH municipal government for our population and geography. Get out of the horse and buggy age. These imaginary lines of political geography from another era need to be erased. Sidewalks and other municipal services can't stop at those imaginary lines but must extend to where people live and in a logical manner. And there must be consistent infrastructure life cycling and design throughout this county. Get on with amalgamation, please!
