MOUNT THOM – A male dog has Anne Greely, bylaw enforcement officer for the Municipality of Pictou County, to thank for saving his life.
Last week Greely received a call of a dog running at large in Mount Thom. She set a live trap on Thursday and soon had the animal.
If she hadn’t, it’s possible the dog, which appears to be a golden retriever mix, might not have lived much longer.
She said it was very thin and had other medical conditions.
“Its skin was in very bad condition from a flea infestation,” she said.
She took it to a vet right away where it’s been undergoing treatment. The dog still has some more medical attention to receive but soon will be released to the SPCA for them to adopt or foster out unless an owner can be found.
The dog had no identification.
