NEW GLASGOW – New Glasgow Recreation is offering a bus trip to Ski Wentworth on Feb. 22 for those 16 years old and older.

Wentworth offers a multitude of ski hills, snowshoe trails, cross country skiing trails, and even a Promo Terrain Park that offers many installations for tricks.

“We want to give the opportunity to go to Wentworth for a day of winter physical activity with the added bonus of convenient and cost-efficient transportation,” New Glasgow’s Recreation Manager Norma MacLeod said.

The trip gives people the opportunity to travel by bus and tailor the rest of the trip to their needs. If you have your snowboard or skis, you just pay for the lift ticket and the bus ride; if you need to rent a board or skis, there is an all-inclusive package.

The full trip package price which entails travel to and from Ski Wentworth, a lift ticket and your rental of skis, blades or board is $77. If you already have your own equipment but need a lift ticket and transportation, the fee is $60.

“Whether it is a group of high school students, a newcomer to Nova Scotia, a seniors group who want to go cross country skiing or an individual who wants to try out a new sport, this trip really is for anyone and everyone who has the desire to get out on the ski hill and enjoy winter,” MacLeod said.

The registration deadline is Feb. 17.
