PICTOU – A New Glasgow man was sentenced to 90 days in jail after being convicted of his fifth impaired driving charge.
Gregory Allan Greene, 58, who pleaded guilty to a charge of refusing a breathalyzer, will serve his sentence intermittently.
Police stopped Greene’s vehicle on Chisholm Street in New Glasgow in mid-September and noticed immediately that he was showing signs of impairment.
He had previous impaired driving convictions dating back to 1983.
On a positive note, the court was told that Greene is a hard worker who has the support of his family and is attempting to stay away from alcohol at this time in his life.
In addition to the jail sentence, Greene has been placed on probation for 12 months and has been prohibited from driving for two years.
