NEW GLASGOW - This barbershop quartet definitely struck a chord with their listeners this Valentines Day.

Wade Smith, left, Brian Bowden, Art Bingham and Bob Morse belt out a romantic tune in rehearsals last week. The barbershop quartet raised around $535 for charity from their Valentines Day singing.

For $25, the ensemble sang a romantic song and gave a rose and a card to people's significant others in Pictou County.   Wade Smith, Brian Bowden, Art Bingham and Bob Morse had 27 customers and several free songs spread around the county.

The profit for this latest Valentines Day singing is around $535, which will go to charities of their choice.

Bingham noted that despite a fun and successful day, the group started late because he and Morse were stuck on his icy driveway and had to wait to be retreived.
