An intense low pressure system east of Cape Breton will track over Newfoundland today. Strong northwest winds gusting up to 100 km/h are expected in the wake of the low over Eastern Nova Scotia. Another 5 to 10 centimetres of snow is expected over Northwestern Cape Breton. This snow combined with the strong winds will give reduced visibilities in blowing snow today.
