Pictou born Peter Anthony, one of Canada’s rising comedians will be performing at Summer Street Industries on May 8 as the feature entertainer for the 28th Annual New Glasgow Kinsmen Cash Dinner.

Peter was a 2013 Nominee for “Best Male Standup” at the Canadian Comedy Awards and has been featured on CBC, CTV, The Comedy Network, and MTV.

The Cash dinner was started in 1986 as a stag event and marks the 28th consecutive following that tradition. All proceeds from the event are used to support local Pictou County causes.

“The Cash Dinner is historically a great evening where 250 guys from around town can get together, network, have a great meal and share a few laughs,” said Kinsmen President Frank Proudfoot. “It’s not necessarily a great money maker for us but rather a time where we can mingle and say thanks to the many people who support Kinsmen causes.  Most of our ticketholders have been coming for many years and look forward to the event.”

The cash dinner will have a slight change this year in the buffet dinner will be prepared and served by the staff at Summer Street Industries.  Before the dinner, there will be cash wheels, draws, and silent auction.

Proudfoot stated that tickets are $70 each or reserved tables of eight for $550.  Seating is limited.

Tickets can be obtained by contacting any Kin member or emailing
