Houston calling on Liberals to support

HALIFAX – Today in the Legislature, Progressive Conservative MLA for Pictou East, Tim Houston is calling on the Liberals to support a Provincial Lyme Disease Strategy.

The Bill being debated today was introduced by Houston last week. It would create a medical surveillance program to properly track incidence rates and associated economic costs of Lyme Disease.

“I am proud to be able to bring forward this long overdue legislation,” says Houston. “I’m calling on the Liberals to act swiftly and join the PC Caucus to take action on Lyme disease.”

Houston says the Act will create a provincial standard of care to reflect best practices for treatment. He has heard from many people across the province, who have been suffering due to Lyme disease.

“We must address the discrepancies in diagnosis and treatment,” says Houston. “”The Liberals should take advantage of the opportunity we have to learn more about combatting Lyme disease by supporting this legislation.”

I am a canadian living in mass. I have acquired lyme and have all the pertinent requirements to be treated here . I was just told by my doctor here that he is not allowed to treat me as the C DC sent letters to him stating that no one csn be trested past 10 days with antibiotics. I am now having stroke like symptoms problems walking severe memory problems amongst other terrible bizarre symptoms. Been in and out of hospitals fir months and I am not allowed to even pay for my own antibiotics. Please do something kind and set a precedence for the rest of the world to follow. Also go onto Medscape and read article where the cdc is condemning better testing. Bonus is Alan MacDonald nd and world know pathologists has a great deal to say about this article. Please help all the people suffering we need your help!
