PICTOU – A New Glasgow man has pleaded guilty to theft from a downtown New Glasgow business but denies vandalizing another storefront on the same day.

Forty-seven-year-old Darrell Francis Pye entered a guilty plea in Pictou Provincial Court Monday related to possession of stolen property from The End Vapour Shop on March 29 in addition to breaching a court undertaking. However, he entered a not guilty plea to a charge of damaging the window of the Salvation Army.

He will return to court July 2 for a trial on the vandalism charge during which time he will also be sentenced on the theft and breach convictions.
