An indoor yard sale will be held at New Glasgow Junior High School (the old Temperance Street School) on May 10, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. All proceeds of the sale will be used for the school's band and choir programs and will help fund instrument and travel expenses for students.

The sale will be held in the school gymnasium and people are encouraged to donate items they no longer want. Donated items can be dropped off at the school on May 9 between 3 and 8 p.m. Anyone wanting bulky items picked up in advance can call Lorne Matheson at 754-1234.

All donated items that are not sold will be donated to the Canadian Diabetes Society "Clothesline" program. The Clothesline program’s proceeds directly support the Canadian Diabetes Association and its work on behalf of the nine million Canadians living with diabetes or pre-diabetes.

Temperance Street School has temporarily housed grades 7, 8, and 9 students while the old New Glasgow Junior High was demolished, with the New Glasgow Academy P-8 school now being built on the same site. The new school is scheduled to open in September 2014.
