BRIDGEVILLE – The community of Bridgeville is coming together to help longtime resident Betty MacDonald, who lost her home and all contents in a recent fire.

Bridgeville United Church is hosting a musical evening on May 9 at 7 p.m.  The evening will consist of a hymn sing, featuring old favourites, guest singers and sing-alongs.  A free will offering will be taken.

At 6 p.m. hotdogs and pop will be available for those wanting a quick lunch or to drop in and make a donation.

Arlene MacGregor, who is helping to organize the event said MacDonald wasn’t home at the time of the fire so all the contents were lost.

The MacDonald home was one that many in the community stopped at over the years and MacGregor said MacDonald’s friends wanted to do something for her.

So glad that the community is helping such a wonderful lady. Betty home was always a happy and friendly place to visit. Lots of love and many blessings to her and her family.
