STELLARTON – Anchor Motors could be one of the first businesses in Stellarton to get natural gas.

The new Anchor Motors location in Stellarton could be one of the first businesses hooked up to natural gas in Stellarton.

Marc Comeau, company president, confirmed that they’re hoping to have natural gas run to their new location in the Albion Business Park and should know for sure later this week whether that will work out.

If it does, they’d be looking at hookup in October.

Comeau said they held off paving part of their parking lot to allow for running lines into the building.

Heritage Gas, which owns the franchise rights for natural gas in the province has recently been working to hookup Michelin in Granton and Northern Pulp to natural gas and are working through the approval process that would allow them to expand into New Glasgow and Stellarton as well. They hope to construct a line into the towns in June.
