HALIFAX — The problem-plagued restoration of the Bluenose II has hit another snag.
The Nova Scotia government says a long-awaited test drive planned for today has been called off.
No new date has been set.
In a news release, the province says the government is missing a certificate from the American Bureau of Shipping that would allow the schooner to leave the dock.
The Bluenose II has been undergoing a multi-year restoration project that’s been plagued by budget overruns and repeated delays.
The province issued a news release Tuesday saying the vessel would conduct engine, steering and anchor tests in Lunenburg harbour if the weather co-operated.
The test drive must be completed before sea trials can take place — the final phase of the project.
