NEW GLASGOW – The tide changed and the finish line moved, but for organizer Margie MacDonald, these were only minor mishaps in an otherwise successful duck race.
Rubber ducks of all sizes and colours floated down the East River on Saturday as a fundraiser for Crime Stoppers and Crime Prevention.
“We will have all those kinks worked out,” MacDonald said about next year’s event.
The race also served as a way to promote safer communities and offer a family activity.
“I really like to do things that are different, but will involve a lot of people.”
The amount raised had not yet been determined.
