PICTOU –  Transportation crews will do some brush cutting at the intersection of Stewart Road and Route 376 in Lyons Brook.

During a recent county council meeting, a councillor requested that the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure look at the area because he was concerned about the high vegetation limiting people’s site at the intersection, causing them to pull their vehicle out a little further to see around the brush.

In a letter to council, the transportation department said crews looked at the area and would return in the near future to remove vegetation that may be obstructing the sightlines at this intersection.

In addition to this, DOT crews will also be examining passing zones in three different areas of the county that some councilors feel are dangerous and could lead to accidents on the roadways.

The areas in question are Route 374 from Hopewell to Foxbrook Road, heading towards Stellarton; Pleasant Valley Road from Highway 104 at Exit 20, heading towards Salter Road and Granton-Abercrombie Road, between both ends of the Abercrombie Loop.

Transportation crews will at the area and determine if the existing passing lanes need to be changed.
