To the editor,
I understand that Jamie Baillie wants to cut funding to charities and cultural festivals in order to accommodate his proposed tax cuts. YMCA, Feed Nova Scotia, Autism Nova Scotia, Neptune Theatre are a few he has called out. Cultural activities would include The Ship Hector Foundation, would it not?
As a Pictou West voter who has supported the Ship Hector Foundation in the past, I know many volunteers who have worked tirelessly to save this centerpiece of the Pictou waterfront. It is discouraging to think that a Jamie Baillie government would cut, what amounts to $75,000 in funding.
We deserve better!
