To the editor,
Now that the election is over all the promise makers and storytellers have taken their signs and posters down and are now fading into the background.
But it has not taken the new Liberal government long to start spending our tax dollars by holding the swearing in of the new government outside of Province House, and then getting rid of some of the deputy ministers. And now by the way of the news media, they are going to close the road paving crew and sell off all the equipment at a loss and that is just a start, so watch out for what will come next.
Now here in Pictou County it is all Tory blue. So don’t look for anything to happen for it never happened under the last Tory or Liberal governments. But under the NDP government a good number of roads were fix and paved; as well there’s a new jail in the county along with a balanced budget and the list goes on. So for the next four years do not look for anything good to happen here in Pictou County.
But under the new Liberal government we will have to wait and see just what they have in store for us when the speech from the throne is read on Nov. 28. And that will give us some insight as to where they will take the province for the next four years. For one can never believe what they said when they were on the election trail.
But as for us, all we can do is to keep paying our taxes and hope for better times to come.
