To the editor,

With the holiday season upon us, the Crohn’s and Colitis volunteer group wish the good people of Pictou County our very best wishes and a happy, healthy 2014.

Recently our group held a very successful prize bingo at the West River Fire Hall and drew winning tickets on our gift baskets. We are pleased to report over $2,500 was raised with all proceeds going toward research to find a cause and cure for inflammatory bowel disease. We could not have it without the wonderful support of all of you.

At this time, we wish to thank the following supporters – Sobeys in Pictou and West Side Community Room, Highland Square Mall, Inglis Jewellers, Giant Tiger, Hector Building in Stellarton, Highland News and especially Pictou Lodge. We also want to thank the many friends of our group who generously donate on every occasion.

We are appreciative of The News and its coverage and publication of our various meetings and events throughout the year. It is an essential service and a great way to get our message to the public. Within a couple of months we will be resuming our meetings and fundraisers – hope we can count on everyone’s great support in the future.
