To the editor,
Thank you Cathie Urquhart MacIntosh for the video "Pipes of War" Amazing Grace (FB).
I wish to express my enjoyment on the program that was performed in honour of the 70 the Anniversary of D-Day; it was truly amazing ‚Äď the time and effort from all who took part in this wonderful evening is a profound statement of the local talent and the willingness to share your talents with your community.
We have all benefited from the great sacrifice made by our brave men and women more than 70 years ago, but it's truly an honour to have our local talent create a form affording us the opportunity to express our deepest feelings of thanks and respect.
I personality watched D-Day ceremonies on TV most of the day June 6th, and to close that evening with the Pipes of War at the deCoste Centre was memorable. Thank you Robbie MacInnes and all your participants for a wonderful tribute. Again Cathie thank you for your video. I only wish it was longer!
The only negative aspect of the whole evening experience was the STINK over the Town of Pictou compliments of Northern Pulp. This stink probably was comparable to the stink on the Beaches of Normandy 70 years ago. We have our own silent killer here in Pictou County, it's called Northern Pulp. A thank you shall be given to the up-and-coming leaders of Pictou County when they free us of this pollution. Obviously our current leaders have been overcome by the smell.
