To the editor,
I am writing in response to Andy MacGregor's well-researched, well-planned and extremely well-written article published in The News, Thursday, Aug. 21.
Andy took the time to research and plan his article unlike some business people and community leaders who could not wait to get in front of the media without the proper facts.
As a retired Northern Pulp mill employee, I am well aware of the trials and tribulations of the environmental problems that all pulp mills have. It is a difficult and costly problem, some of which can be solved and some can’t if we want to keep sustainable jobs in our rural communities.
The pulp mill should be given the opportunity to honour their commitment with the government to install these environmental projects. It is nice when people engage their thinking capabilities first before speaking. Thanks again, Andy.
