Support continues for local affiliate of CCFC

To the editor,

The year 2013 is upon us and we at the Pictou County affiliate of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada wish to thank all those many people and businesses who supported us throughout the past year.

Recently we had our fall fundraiser in the form of selling tickets on our Christmas baskets and a fun-filled evening of prize bingo at West River fire hall. our group is pleased to report that $2,500 was raised to help find a cause and/or a cure for inflammatory bowel disease. The lucky basket winners were Barb MacPhail and Christ Babinec.

We look forward to your continued support when we move into our spring fundraiser in the form of our Gutsy Walk held in early June. Great strides have been made in the treatment of IBD sufferers but much more has to be accomplished.

Thank you again to the kind people of Pictou County who realize the importance of our role in this research.
