To the editor,
Expenses, expenses, expenses, here an expense, there an expense, everywhere an expense…. If inappropriate expenses is a criminal act for us, shouldn't it be a criminal act for everyone?
I’m not being rude or being a judge. Anyone can make a mistake. And there are honest, hard working people who are on our side within every group. We must keep in mind criticism can evolve from jealousy. And I am not a stranger to the word either, and it's found in my vocabulary also.
There's an old saying we should ponder on, if you got anything good or praise for a person say it (let them know), and if you don't, well don't say anything at all. Negative things have a way of jumping up and biting one's face.
With all this going on about expenses, slow down, don't fuel criticism from jealousy. We all get in a defensive mode if someone invades our comfort zone – some have bigger comfortable zones than others. Let things slide a bit – if the laundry’s really dirty, the stains will not come out! And keep in mind if there are smudges that shouldn't be there, the laundry will come clean.
Change is good, but we can't change anything. Words are just in vain. So some of us could come to the conclusion it's not even worth the effort to bother. Everything is going to come out the same anyway regardless.
That old song, the parking on the left is now parking on the right. I tip my hat to the new constitution. It will be a waste of money and time. End result the money’s gone – “easy come, easy go” – at our expense.
The outlook is up to each individual – is it worth the effort to criticize or not? The final decision will be the same with or without criticism. Just a waste of air and writing?
