To the editor,
I was delighted recently to learn that Fleur Mainville had decided to continue with another series of informal afternoon concerts this summer and fall (last Sunday of the month) at the Glencoe Hall. I was so glad that I was home the last week of May, for example, to hear Fleur and some friends with whom she shared the stage make some great music. What a splendid way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
In fact, I was so enthralled that I walked out forgetting my purse, which could have been a real problem as I was heading for Halifax the next day to celebrate my son’s graduation.
Not to worry. Not only is Fleur a great fiddler, but also a great person. As she and her family tidied up the hall later, she safely retrieved my purse, managed to track me down at my home in Glencoe (despite my ID suggesting I lived in Guelph), and then had a family member deliver it back to me in Glencoe later the same day.
Wow. No wonder I had been hearing about what a wonderful person she is, such a gift to our Pictou County community. A real class act.
