To the editor,
Over the July 1st weekend I had the pleasure of observing some wonderful young people from our area take a trip to the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo which I had the privilege of organizing. I feel this will be remembered by these cadets for a long time as the theme this year was the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Navy Although I did not accompany them, I did advise them that they were in uniform, and ambassadors for Pictou. Their uniforms would stand out and they would be under constant observation of the public wherever they and whatever they did.
The reports I received upon their return really made me feel proud of them. The adults on the bus were singing their praises on their behaviour on the coach, at the restaurant and at the Tattoo. On the return trip one took an extra large coffee cup and took up a freewill collection for the driver's gratuity and presented it to him. Also, as they neared New Glasgow, one of them took the garbage bag at the rear of the coach and collected the refuse and left it at the front of the coach. They were obedient to, and under the care of adult cadet officers. In navy talk, I say to the Royal William Sea Cadet Corps and their leadership, BRAVO ZULU.
