To the editor,

On July 25 Pictou County Day Care held its second annual Walk-A-Thon and would like to thank their sponsor, Sobeys in Aberdeen Place, as well as all the children, parents and staff who came out to the event.  The Walk-A-Thon raised money for Pictou County Day Care, Pictou County’s only non-profit day care, which was founded in 1973 by a group called “Parents without Partners.”

Since opening its doors in 1974 Pictou County Day Care has provided quality childcare services for over 1,000 families in the New Glasgow area. It is through fundraisers such as the Walk-A-Thon and the generous support of the community that Pictou County Day Care is able to continue to be operated by the community for the community. Thank you.
