Donation from paycheque a way to help the homeless

To the editor,

Would this be a bad idea to have implemented if it had approval by companies? I'm open for other answers if this is not a good idea. The Golden Rule is to help one another, is it not? Here is the idea thrown out there: On a voluntary basis by the employees, if some employees or all in a company were to donate from their paycheques a donation for the homeless in their local community and also for the homeless for the company’s homeland. The amount could of their choice, whether it be a small amount or a large amount, and would be divided 50\50 for the homeless in their community and the homeless in the company’s homeland. There's benefits for everyone when we invest in helping others (the less fortunate, such as the homeless in the world).

If it's not a good idea, I understand and respect that. And I must say, there are companies out there doing this already or something similar, which is outstanding on their part. Food for thought – and there are lots of people out there going hungry and homeless!

Maybe someday it will be grabbed onto. Investing in others hurts no one (just gives you a good heart). Dreams can come true!

I feel that most of us living paycheque to paycheque need to take that money and pay off our consumer debts and other debts and focus on paying off creditors first. We need to get our own financial house in order first.
