LINACY – The father-son duo of Allan and Brian Affleck won the 2010 Nova Scotia Golf Association Family Classic on the weekend at Linacy Greens Golf Club.
The Afflecks scored a four-stroke victory over a knot of four teams tied for second place. They finished with a two-round total of 130 on rounds of 63 and 67. They ended the weekend at 14 under par.
They carded 17 birdies over the two days and only shot three bogeys for the tournament.
Both play out of the Glen Lovat Golf Club.
Jean Minetta Cameron and Cameron Van Oirschot from Antigonish won the mother and son division with an even par 144.
The team of Ken and Chantelle Ervanowitz of River Oaks held on to their day one lead and finished the tournament with a 3 under par 141 to capture the father and daughter division.
In the grandfather and grandchild division Garnet and Jared Ward from the Eagle Crest Golf Club finished first overall with a two-day total of 158.
