The varsity boys baseball team at North Nova has been suspended for an incident of hazing that occurred earlier this week.
Chignecto Central Regional School Board Communications Manager Debbie Buott-Matheson said the incident occurred Tuesday although for privacy reasons she said she could not going into how many students or the nature of the hazing that was involved.
"No one was physically harmed," she did confirm however.
The entire team has been suspended for a week and a half, which means there will be no games or practices in that time period. As a result the team is missing several games.
Buott-Matheson said the decision was made by the administration at North Nova and coaches.
"They agreed that the best way to address this was to impose a deterrent," she said.
