Atom A Crushers narrowly miss championship game

TRURO – The Pictou County atom A Crushers were competitive over the weekend at the Truro KFC Tournament, picking up a win, loss and a tie.

In the first game the Crushers tied Strait-Richmond 2-2 on goals by Jack Marshall and Hudson Cameron. Nick MacInnis, Dominic Bond, Ryan MacKay and Andrew Goswell were credited with assists. Myles Farnsworth was named player of the game.

In their second game, the Crushers came out on the short end of a 6-5 thriller with the host Truro team. Marshall led the way with a hat trick, while Cameron and Bond had singles. MacInnis had three assists and Goswell added one. Cameron was named player of the game.

In their third and final game of the tournament the Crushers defeated Cape Breton West 4-2. Marshall again led the way with two goals with Bond and Farnsworth chipping in with singles. MacInnis had two assists, with Cale MacLaughlin adding one. Keigan Walker was named player of the game with a solid effort between the pipes. The Crushers missed out on advancing to the championship through the tiebreaker process.
