X-Men finish fourth at Dal’s Shoveller Tourney

HALIFAX – Monday the St. FX men’s basketball team lost 98-82 to Laval in the bronze medal game of the 22nd annual Rod Shoveller Memorial tournament at Dalhousie University.

Rodrigo Madera scored 17 points and had nine rebounds for the X-Men, while Shane Coupland also scored 17 points, with seven rebounds. Jeremy Dunn scored 16 points and had six rebounds.

The player of the game was Karl Demers-Belanger from Laval, who led the Rouge et Or with 21 points.

This weekend the X-Men are in regular season action on Saturday in Halifax against the Dalhousie Tigers. Tip-off is 8 p.m.
