BRIDGEWATER – The Weeks Major Midgets had a less than ideal start to their weekend, losing 5-2 to the South Shore Mustangs, but bounced back on Sunday for a 3-1 victory in back-to-back road games. With the win on Sunday the team retains their four-point gap between them and the last place Mustangs.

Lane Cormier scored the only Major Midgets goals on Saturday. Assists were picked up by: Darryl Wheadon, Ryan Camp and Lucas Sangster. Tanner Doiron made 22 saves in the loss.

On Sunday Luke Melanson made 22 saves in their 3-1 victory. Scoring for Pictou County in the second game were: Mark Vokey (2) and Sangster. Lucas Holman, Sangster, Craig Murray, Camp, Wheadon and Cormier picked up assists.

Next weekend the team is in Bedford for the Chronicle Herald East Coast Ice Jam.
