North Nova boys hockey struggle at Citadel tournament

NEW GLASGOW - The North Nova boys hockey team participated in the Citadel High School Christmas tournament, coming away with two losses and a tie. MVP's for the tournament were Alex Halliday, Ryan Wasburn and Carson Dunbar. Goal scorers were Scott Graham, Sam Cameron, Craig Murray, Dylan Johnston and Tommy Hayman.

In league action the Gryphons hosted the Dr. J. H. Gillis Royals on Friday at the John Brother MacDonald Stadium. Logan Boudreau had an excellent game between the pipes, keeping the Royals off the scoreboard until late in the third frame. Cameron and Graham each had two goals for the Gryphons with Halliday adding a single. Johnston and Kyle Duff each had two assists with single assists going to Jacob Bailey, Allister Mason, Hayman and Cameron in the 5-1 victory over the Royals.

The NNEC squad next sees action this weekend as they participate in the Danny Dorrington Memorial Tournament in Westville this weekend. Their first game is at 9 a.m. at the Westville Miners Sports Centre.
