WESTVILLE – It only took three snipers from Docs to hand the Acropole Blues an 8-6 loss on Sunday night at the Westville Sports Centre.
Jason O'Donnell and Edwin Fraser fired three goals each, while Howie Cotter added two.
"I was just the last guy to touch the puck before it went in the net," said Fraser. “It takes every player on the ice to hustle and play as a team to be successful in this league."
Scoring for Acropole were Mark Bannerman (2), John Behie (2), Victor Melonson and Allan Smith.
In the second game on Sunday night the Highland Nissan Habs defeated the short staffed Bestway Panthers 8-4.
Billy Kontuk, with the new and improved body, scored three times to lead the Habs.
“It was one of those nights, everything you touched went in the net,” Kontuk said. "My teammates are very supportive of the way I play and agree that I am the most handsome player on the team."
Picking up single goals were Chris Hatchard, Norm Seymour, Mike MacLean, Joe Decoste and Cory MacKinnon.
Replying for the Panthers were Ricky Wright with two, while Luke and Jerry Austin added one each.
"We were missing some key players tonight,” Lou Smith said. "Rumour has it there was a gathering of Panthers Saturday night with a few 'wheat based' drinks involved."
League resumes on Wednesday night at the Westville Sports Centre at 7:30 p.m.
