TRURO - Saturday night in Truro the Pictou County Weeks Crushers didn't surrender their lead over the Truro Bearcats until Philip Fife’s goal with 1:16 remaining in the game.

Fife’s goal gave the Bearcats a 4-3 lead. They added an empty net goal to finish the game 5-3.

Mitchell Deruelle opened the scoring for the Crushers on the power play in the first period, followed by a goal under five minutes later by Evan MacEachern to open a 2-0 lead. Truro answered before the end of the first to cut the lead to one.

Garrett Holmes scored the third and final Crushers goal in the second period after Kyle Morrison tied the game 2-2 with a power play goal.

Patrick down scored the to tie the game 3-3 in the third before Fife’s goal.

Brandon Thibeau stopped 45 shots in the loss for the Crushers.
