X-Men hockey sweep weekend

ANTIGONISH – The St. FX men’s hockey team picked up a pair of wins over the weekend at home, dropping the Dal Tigers 5-2 and Saint Mary’s Huskies 5-4 in overtime.

On Friday against the Tigers Michael Kirkpatrick, Brennen Wray (2), Ted Stephens and Cory MacIntosh scored for the X-Men. Joseph Perricone made 27 saves in the win.

Saturday night against the second-place Huskies it took a shootout to determine the winner. Scoring in regulation for the X-Men were: Wray, Steven Kuhn, Jason Bast and Kirkpatrick. Stephens scored the only goal in the shootout for both teams.

Drew Owsley made 43 saves in the X-Men victory.

Next weekend the team is on the road against UPEI and UNB.

    To bad none of these guys will never make it to the NHL like Johnathan Drouin and Nathan MacKinnon. Go Mooseheads Go
