Major Midgets drop pair of games

HALIFAX – On the road over the weekend, the Weeks Major Midgets fell twice, 3-2 to Cole Harbour and 4-2 to Halifax.

In Saturday’s game against Cole Harbour it would take overtime to break the tie. Aaron Meahan of the Cole Harbour Major Midgets scored 4:30 into the overtime period to grab the extra point for his squad.

Scoring for the Weeks Major Midgets were Cody Johnston and Cole Livingstone, while Luke Melanson made 33 saves in the loss.

Sunday afternoon against the Halifax Titans, the Weeks Major Midgets goal scorers were Mark Vokey and Ryan Camp. Melanson played a portion of the first period with Tanner Doiron finishing the game for the Weeks Major Midgets.

Tuesday night the Major Midgets are home against the Cape Breton West Islanders for a makeup game. Puck drop is 7:00 p.m. at the Pictou County Wellness Centre.
