CHARLOTTETOWN – President Aquinas Ryan said the league unanimously approved the addition of junior teams from Summerside and Stellarton, N.S. at a meeting Saturday in Charlottetown.

“It adds a bit of variety to the league,” he said Wednesday.

The Nova Scotia team, coached by former Mount Stewart resident Rick Feehan, is looking for more games as it prepares for the junior nationals, which Dartmouth, N.S. is hosting in 2013 and 2014.

The addition brings the circuit to 11 teams with most being located in central and eastern Prince Edward Island.

KCBL teams will travel to Nova Scotia once for two games.

The Canada Games and the Stellarton clubs will not take part in the playoffs.

I agree, why would anyone want to play on that team. When there's other teams in Nova Scotia that you could be playing against. This organization has cracked and is now garbage. The only reason the teams have been good in the past couple years is because of the players coming in, defiently not the coaching.

Ok this is barry hayman ,I do not know who put the BH comment on here but it was not me and that is the problem with a site like this where people use everything but their own name. I think it is a great thing to start a junior team ,the more we can keep ball going the better.Organizer I agree there is going to be lots of high level of ball at the Albion field . There will be the Intermediate Albions, this junior team,MacGregor Midget AAA,Midget AAA Albions as well as I believe there is talk about two Midget A teams . So this is a great thing to have all this ball being played at the Albion field. This is more like the old days with lots of baseball and a lot of this credit should go to Trevor who started the midget A program a few years ago and kept the kids playing.

only recently they have been taking players from outside the county. when i played junior ball in stellarton we had 2 guys from away the rest were county born players. baseball fell apart in this county because none of the parents around here pushed their kids in baseball as they do in hockey. And for a reason that anyone should play on this team is because its a great experiance to travel outside the province to play ball. Kids do it for hockey so why not baseball? i think this is a great idea and wish we had of done this when i was playing junior ball
