Atom AAA Crushers tie, lose to Sharks

PICTOU COUNTY – The atom AAA Crushers hosted the South Shore Sharks this weekend, losing 5-1 on Saturday before a 3-3 tie on Sunday.

Scoring the lone goal in the third period of Saturday’s game was Raymond Chisholm with KJ Emery and Nole Chapman picking up the assists. Brayden Leblanc was between the pipes for the Crushers.

On Sunday, the Sharks opened the scoring, but the Crushers answered back with a goal by Connor MacLeod assisted by Brycen MacDonald. The second period saw MacLeod score again, unassisted and Chisholm assisted by Chapman giving the Crushers a 3-1 lead. The Sharks scored late in the second to bring them within one and scored to tie the game with less than three minutes remaining in the third to end the game in a 3-3 tie.

Cody MacDougall was in goal for the Crushers. The next action for the Crushers will be on the weekend when they host the Western Valley Spartans on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and Sunday at 10:00 a.m. at the Wellness Centre.
