In Trenton last night the Pictou County Scotians moved to within one point of second place Strait Pirates with their 7-4 dumping of the Antigonish Bulldogs.
Seven players handled the scoring for the Scotians. Brandon Verge, Scott MacLean, Lucas Eshelman, Dustin Bowron, Sean Tyler, Brad MacEachern and Steven MacNeil. Verge, Eshelman and Craig Matheson all chipped in with a pair of assists.
Nathaniel Letcher, Fraser White, Tim MacDougall and Mike Tobin scored for the Bulldogs.
The Scotians led 4-2 after one; 4-3 after two and the Scotians took the third period 3-1.
Mitch Donlevy picked up the win for the Scotians while Keagan Butler and Patrick McNamara tended the Bulldog cage.
With losses by both Cumberland and Antigonish the last playoff spot is still up for grabs with both teams locked in with 19 points and five games remaining.
