Atom AAA Crushers see early exit from Spud tournament

CHARLOTTETOWN - This past weekend the Atom AAA Crushers participated in the 38th annual Marks Work Wearhouse Spud Minor Hockey Tournament hosted by the Charlottetown Minor Hockey Association, the oldest AAA hockey tournament in Atlantic Canada.

The Crushers faced off against the Halifax Hawks and lost 8-1. Scoring the lone goal for the county was Blake Kontuk on a feed from Kyle Reim. Player of the game honours went to Kontuk. 

In game two, the Crushers were held scoreless against a strong Acadia team. Player of the game was Cody MacDougall. 

On Saturday, the crew played the Mid Isle Matrix and lost 5-2. Kontuk scored both goals with Raymond Chisholm assisting on the second. Chisholm was chosen player of the game. Next weekend the Crushers travel to Bridgewater to play the South Shore Sharks to continue their battle for second place.
