STELLARTON - The MacGregor Kinsmen Baseball Program is happy to announce they will be fielding two AAA baseball teams in Pictou County.
The MacGregor Kinsmen midget AAA’s return again this year with a new head coach, Ryan Thibeau. Thibeau brings a lot of baseball experience with him as a player and assistance coach for a number of high level teams. He hails from the Yarmouth Baseball program and now works as a fire inspector in the Town of Truro.
Thibeau’s midget AAA team will be in the BBNS Bluenose League this summer. May 4-5 Ryan has the P.E.I. Canada Games team coming to Stellarton to play and returning to PEI on the weekend of June 1-2 for a home-and-home two game tournament.
In addition there will be a team visiting us at the Albion Field from Marlborough, Mass. to play a few games with the MacGregor Kinsmen midget AAA team and the Eastern Canadian Big League Champs, the Glace Bay Dodgers. Pending the National Elimination Playoff there will be return trip to Marlborough for a rematch and attendance to a Boston Red Sox game at Fenway.
The Canadian National Midget AAA Championships are August 15-19 2013 in Quebec.
The MacGregor Kinsmen junior AAA’s are new this summer with two new coaches, Scott Fisher and Brad Skinner. Fisher and Skinner bring several years of baseball experience. Both have played baseball and have been part of the MacGregor Kinsmen midget AAA’s for the past number of years. The MacGregor’s junior AAA team will be playing in the Kings County Baseball League that has been in existence since 1935. There will be 11 teams in this league including the MacGregor Kinsmen junior AAA”s and the Summerside junior AAA Blue’s.
The Canadian National Junior AAA Championships will be held in Dartmouth, N.S., Aug. 15-19, 2013.
Tryouts for the two teams will commence on March 9 at 5-8 p.m. at the indoor soccer complex in Stellarton. Registration for the tryouts is $50.
