ANTIGONISH – The regular season of AUS men’s hockey comes down to one night, this Friday Feb. 8, with three teams battling for playoff positioning. The first, second and third spots are locked up with UNB in first, Saint Mary’s in second and Acadia in third, while Dalhousie and St. Thomas are eliminated.

From fourth to sixth there is a two-point difference with St. FX in front with 32 points. UPEI and Moncton are tied at 30 points.

None of the teams vying for playoff positioning play each other. St. FX is on the road against Saint Mary’s. A win will lock up fourth spot, the highest the X-Men can finish as Acadia holds the second tiebreaker over St. FX, outscoring them 13-10 in their four games this season. Each team won two games in their head-to-head matchups.

The only situation where St. FX doesn’t finish in fourth is if they lose and UPEI wins. Regardless of all results they will play UPEI or Moncton in the 4th place vs. 5th place quarter-final series.
